The observance of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Lower Altamaha Historical Society and the unveiling of a new historical marker commemorating Ashantilly will be held Sunday, October 25.
The joint observance of the two events will be held on the grounds at Ashantilly, near Darien, beginning at 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The featured speaker will be Buddy Sullivan, Director Emeritus of the LAHS. His address will be “The Lower Altamaha Historical Society: Reflections Upon Its Past and Some Observations on Its Present and Future.’
