ASHANTILLY was pleased to welcome Joe Sanders to the Print Shop! Joe is the Alan F. Rothschild Distinguished Chair of Art at Columbus State University. He came to finish a project he had started a while back. Using the Vandercook Uni 1, he was able to complete his project. He also designed and printed a Father's Day card for us. We have some for sale at the Center, and at Turnip Greens in Darien, and Dot & Army's in Brunswick.
Ashley Raybould of GA DNR Non-Game Division presented an interesting program about turtles and marine mammals. The wonderful lunch was catered by Joye Hanrahan.
Geofrey Duesterbeck, local Extention Service agent, presented a program on attracting bees and other pollinators to your garden by planting trees, shrubs, and flowers. Each participant built a bee house, and received flowers seeds to plant in their yards.
Ashantilly Press welcomed back Laura Gardner, 2017 Winter Resident and her colleague Anne Cowie for an incredible Indigo Workshop! Using a wax resist, participants placed designs on their papers and then dyed them. After ironing the wax out, students made a 5 signature small book using their newly dyed papers as covers! It was a blast!

Joye Hanrahan astounded guests with her Valentine's Tea spread. Savory and sweet, a variety unsurpassed! Bob Allison at piano delighted everyone and topped off the fun afternoon!
Nicholas Silberg led this fun workshop where many lovely Valentine cards were produced. Students were able to choose from three set cards or use any of the blocks and type available in the shop to design their own original card! Thanks to Sara Blocker and Marty Carnes for assisting!
