Join Us for a Discussion on Longleaf Pine
Please join us on Saturday, May 11 at 3 p.m. at Ashantilly Center for a discussion on the Longleaf Pine. We’ll show the recently released documentary, Longleaf Forever to all attendees. (Approximately 17 minutes.) Followed by a panel discussion.
There will also be an overview of the book: The Forest That Fire Made: An Introduction to the Longleaf Pine Forest

This guide includes three hundred color images of the flora and fauna that make longleaf pine forests their habitat and more than forty detailed drawings that document the most common species of animals, plants, and insects found there. Books will be for sale at the event.
Watch a teaser for Longleaf Forever. Longleaf Forever is a short documentary film that plunges viewers into one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet. Home to hundreds of rare plants and animals, longleaf pine forests once covered 90 million acres in the American South. Today, conservationists and land managers are turning a history of habitat loss and decline into a hopeful environmental story of renewal. Made with assistance from the GA Dept of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Division, The Longleaf Alliance, and The Environmental Resources Network (TERN).
