This past Saturday, February 7, the Ashantilly Press was filled with the kind of warmth and joy that makes Ashantilly so special. During our Valentine’s Day Open Studio, we welcomed more than 40 visitors into the press shop between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and the sound of the presses rolling was matched only by the laughter and conversation shared throughout the afternoon.
We were so happy to see families, couples, and friends gathered together, some longtime supporters of Ashantilly who never miss an event, and others who were stepping onto the grounds for the very first time. Watching everyone create their own printed cards and postcards, experiencing the magic of antique letterpress printing firsthand, was truly a reminder of how meaningful it is to slow down and make something by hand.
Guests also enjoyed tours of the house, and our gift shop stayed busy as visitors explored and shopped throughout the day. It was a wonderful afternoon from start to finish, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to spend time with us.
